Fish Collection & Distribution Centre (CCDC)

  1. Identify potential marine and freshwater fisheries entrepreneurs
  2. Identify locations and develop marketing infrastructure and logistics;
  3. Provide support and encouragement to the marketing business of Entrepreneur marketers;
  4. Helping small breeders get a market for their produce;
  5. The construction scope includes new construction and improvement/upgrading of fish collection and distribution centres according to the set SOP;
  6. Network markets @ market channels between breeders and market entrepreneurs;
  7. Increasing consumer acceptance of freshwater fish which is easily available at a reasonable price.

LKIM has established CCDC throughout Malaysia starting in 2011. This CCDC is operated by selected Fishermen’s Association and Marketing Entrepreneurs. This CCDC aims to:

  • Provide support and encouragement to the marketing business of Fishermen’s Association and marketer Entrepreneurs;
  • Helping small farmers get a market for their produce;
  • Establish a market between breeders and marketer entrepreneurs; and
  • Increasing consumer acceptance of freshwater fish which is easily available at a reasonable price.

To date, there are 44 CCDC operating throughout Malaysia with a transaction volume of 1,176 metric tons worth RM 14,199,567.89 in 2021.
